Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Angular Contact. Angular contact ball bearings are designed for combination radial and axial loading. Single-row bearings have high thrust capacity in one direction. Some single-row bearings are specifically designed for duplex mounting in sets for maximum performance. Double-row Conrad bearings can accommodate thrust in both directions. The load lines of the angular contact bearings back to back are separated from the bearing shaft. It can withstand axial loads acting in both directions, but the load in each direction can only be absorbed by one bearing. Back-to-back mounted bearings provide a relatively rigid bearing configuration and can withstand overturning moments.
Angular-contact ball bearings are similar to deep-groove ball bearings except that the line of action of the load acting through the contacts between balls and raceways forms an angle with the bearing axis. The bearings are therefore particularly suitable for carrying combined (axial and radial) loads.Single row angular contact ball bearings can accommodate axial loads in one direction only. This type of bearing is typically adjusted against a second bearing. Their bearing rings have an upper and a lower shoulder and are non-separable.
